Savannah, GA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident at GA-25 & Gamble Rd Intersection
Savannah, GA (November 1, 2022) – A pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident that took place at an intersection in Savannah on Sunday morning, October 30.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened around 2:30 a.m. at the intersection of GA-25 and Gamble Road. Two pedestrians were walking in the area when they started to cross the street at the intersection. They were suddenly struck by the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene of the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One of the pedestrians, who has not yet been formally identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to trauma. The other pedestrian was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time. Police later found the vehicle responsible for the accident but the driver was not found in it. They did not say if they have yet discovered the responsible driver.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
