6/13 Calhoun, GA – Fatal Motorcycle Crash at GA-53 & Lovers Ln Rd

Savannah, GA (June 1, 2021) – At 6:45 a.m. on the morning of Monday, May 31, a fatal motorcycle crash occurred at an intersection in Savannah.

According to Savannah Police, the accident happened at the intersection of Abercorn Street and Middleground Road. A motorcycle and an Acura TSX collided with each other when the Acura attempted to make a left turn. The motorcyclist was immediately thrown from the bike.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. The motorcyclist, who has been identified as a 50-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of severe injuries. He later passed away at the hospital.

The roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time.

No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
