Savannah, GA – Fatal Motorcycle Accident on Veterans Pkwy
Savannah, GA (December 1, 2021) – At 10 p.m. on the night of Tuesday, November 30, a fatal motorcycle accident occurred in Savannah.
According to Savannah Police, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of the Veterans Parkway. A motorcyclist ran into a portable work sign that was in the roadway, which caused him to slide on his bike. He was then struck by a passenger vehicle in the area that did not see him in time. The motorcycle was badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, who has not yet been fully identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else sustained injuries in the collision.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area. Police urged those in the area to find alternate routes.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
