Sandy Springs, GA (August 4, 2021) – On Wednesday evening, August 4, police responded to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in a highway work zone in Sandy Springs.

According to police, the accident took place at 10:30 p.m. when multiple vehicles collided in the westbound lanes of The Perimeter (Interstate 285)’s outer loop around Powers Ferry Road and New Northside Drive. The vehicles involved sustained severe damages as a result of the accident.

Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene of the collision. They assisted those with injuries, though the extent of the injuries is not yet known. The injured victims were allegedly hospitalized due to the collision.

All lanes of traffic were blocked, which led to delays in the area for some time. Police diligently worked to clear the scene, though they did not say if any workers were injured in the incident.
