Sandy Springs, GA – Two-Vehicle Collision on GA 400 at Hammond Dr Results in Injuries
Sandy Springs, GA (August 13, 2021) – At 9:00 p.m. on the evening of Friday, August 13, a two-vehicle collision occurred on a highway in Sandy Springs.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, the accident took place in the northbound lanes of GA-400 around the area of Hammond Drive. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control, causing the cars to collide. The vehicles involved in the crash were extensively damaged as a result, and both had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene to help those in need. One or more victims sustained injuries in the crash. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in multiple lanes for at least an hour.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues, and Sandy Springs officers have not released further details.
