Sandy Springs, GA (June 11, 2021) – At 10 a.m. on Friday morning, June 11, a tractor-trailer crash occurred on a highway in Sandy Springs.

According to officials, the accident took place in the southbound lanes of GA-400 around the area of Abernathy Road. Few details have been released but it is believed that a tractor-trailer and at least one passenger vehicle were traveling in the area when they collided with one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time, which led to extensive delays.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
