Sandy Springs, GA – Serious Car Accident on GA-400 Near Abernathy Rd
Sandy Springs, GA (January 6, 2022) – On the afternoon of Thursday, January 6, a serious car accident with injuries occurred in Sandy Springs.
Sandy Springs officials reported that the collision happened at 2:10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of GA-400 near the area of Abernathy Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more drivers lost control, causing the vehicles to forcefully collide with one another. The involved vehicles sustained severe damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The injured parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
All lanes of traffic were blocked following the collision until police cleared the scene. This led to delays in the area. Police urged those traveling through to use Highway 9 as an alternate route.
