Sandy Springs, GA – Red Alert Issued After Car Accident on I-285
Sandy Springs, GA (May 19, 2021) – At 11 p.m. on Tuesday night, May 18, a red alert was issued following a serious car accident in Sandy Springs.
According to local officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Riverside Drive. Two or more vehicles were driving in the area when they collided due to unknown reasons, which led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
All lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
