Sandy Springs, GA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on GA-400 Near Abernathy Rd
Sandy Springs, GA (August 14, 2021) – At 11:16 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, August 14, a multi-vehicle crash with injuries occurred in Sandy Springs.
According to Sandy Springs Police, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of GA-400 around the area of Abernathy Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other in a chain-reaction crash. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions are not yet known.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for a period of time. Police urged those in the area to use Roswell Road as an alternate route.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
