Sandy Springs, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Hammond Dr
Sandy Springs, GA (April 26, 2021) – On Sunday night, April 25, a man was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident in Sandy Springs.
According to Sandy Springs officials, the accident happened on Hammond Drive around the area of Glenridge Drive. A 25-year-old man was walking his dog in the area when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle driven by a 38-year-old woman. The woman was allegedly speeding away from a previous hit-and-run and fled the scene of the second accident as well.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The male pedestrian and his dog were both pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Investigators searched for the Chevy Malibu with a Florida tag and were able to track down the driver who fled the scene. She has since been charged for her role in the fatal accident.
No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
