Sandy Springs, GA – Car Accident on I-285 Near Riverside Dr
Sandy Springs, GA (April 23, 2021) – Around 5:23 a.m. on the morning of Friday, April 23, a car accident occurred on a highway in Sandy Springs.
According to officials, the accident took place in the westbound lanes of I-285 around the area of Riverside Drive. Multiple vehicles allegedly collided with each other in the area due to reasons that are not yet known, which led to extensive damages.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.
A red alert was issued in the area until police cleared the scene. Police urged those in the area to use alternate routes for some time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
