Sandy Springs, GA – Car Accident in EB Lanes of I-285 Leads to Injuries
Sandy Springs, GA (August 8, 2021) – At 8 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, August 8, a car accident with injuries occurred on a highway in Sandy Springs.
According to Fulton County officials, the accident happened in the eastbound lanes of I-285 around the area of exit 26, Glenridge Drive. Two or more vehicles were traveling in the area when one lost control, causing the others to slam into one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result. Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove damaged vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not yet known.
Two left lanes of traffic were blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the accident continues.
