Sandersville, GA – One Killed in Fatal House Fire on Sunhill Rd
Sandersville, GA (April 25, 2021) – At 9 p.m. on Saturday night, April 24, a fatal house fire took place at a home in Sandersville.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place in a home on Sunhill Road. Fire crews arrived to find a home fully engulfed in flames. They were able to put the fire out by 11 p.m.
A paramedic at the scene went into the burning home so that they could attempt to save one person who was trapped inside. The victim, identified as a 62-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The paramedic received first-degree burns and smoke inhalation and was hospitalized. He has since been treated and released from the hospital.
The roadway was blocked in the area until fire crews were able to get the fire under control.
No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
