Rossville, GA – Serious Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash at Wilson Rd & Salem Rd
Rossville, GA (March 6, 2022) – Before 8:45 p.m. on Saturday night, March 5, a hit-and-run motorcycle crash took place at an intersection in Rossville.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Wilson Road and Salem Road. A motorcyclist was allegedly traveling south in the area and slowing to make a right turn onto Salem. At the same time, a Chevy Equinox was traveling at a high speed in the area. The driver slammed into the motorcyclist and ran him over. The driver of the Equinox never stopped. After this, an elderly man driving a Chevy truck ran the motorcyclist over a second time when he did not see the motorcyclist lying in the roadway. Police confirmed that the driver of the Equinox came back to the scene and nearly ran the motorcyclist over a third time before fleeing again.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The motorcyclist, identified only as an adult male, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Their condition is not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked at the intersection for some time. Police did not say if they found the driver responsible for the initial collision.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
