Rome, GA – Car Accident at Dean Ave & E 20th St Intersection
Rome, GA (August 9, 2021) – On Monday afternoon, August 9, one person was injured in a car accident at a Rome intersection.
According to Floyd County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Dean Avenue and 20th Street around the area of the local Stay Lodge. Three vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided due to unknown reasons. One of the vehicles flipped over after being struck. The vehicles involved were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. One patient, who has not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the crash, the roadway was blocked in both directions until police cleared the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
