Riverdale, GA – Fatal Collision at Jonesboro Rd & Old National Hwy
Riverdale, GA (June 12, 2021) – At 11 p.m. on Friday night, June 11, a fatal collision took place at an intersection in Riverdale.
According to officials, the accident happened at the intersection of Jonesboro Road and Old National Highway. Police confirmed that a man was traveling in one vehicle when he entered the intersection and slammed into another vehicle being driven by a woman. The vehicles were both damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. The female driver, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. It is not known if anybody was injured.
Due to the severity of the collision, traffic was backed up in the area for several hours. Police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
