Riverdale, GA – Child Killed in Fatal ATV Accident on GA-138
Riverdale, GA (April 27, 2021) – At 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon, April 27, a child was killed in a fatal ATV accident in Riverdale.
According to Clayton County officials, the accident happened on GA-138 around the area of Embassy Trace. A child was riding an ATV in the area when he attempted to cross the highway and was struck by a driver in the eastbound lanes of traffic. The sedan was left with front-end damage and the ATV was badly mangled. A second boy on an ATV was with the boy who was struck and stopped at the scene but was distraught as a result of the collision.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were present at the scene. The child was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of traumatic injuries. The driver of the sedan was injured and hospitalized.
The roadway was completely blocked in the area for a period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues at this time.
