Rising Fawn, GA – Severe Injuries Reported in Car Accident on GA-157
Rising Fawn, GA (July 8, 2022) – Around 11:15 a.m. on the morning of Friday, July 8, serious injuries stemmed from a car accident in Rising Fawn.
According to Walker County officials, the accident happened on GA-157 around the area of GA-136. A northbound vehicle was traveling in the area when the driver suddenly crossed into the other lane of traffic. A vehicle veered out of the way to avoid a collision, crashing off the side of the road. The vehicle went down an embankment and sustained severe damage as a result of the crash.
Several local responders, including Rising Fawn fire crews and paramedics, were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several parties were trapped in the crashed vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. The parties were then rushed to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released at this time but the investigation into the accident continues. Police will update with more information.
