Ringgold, GA – Passenger Killed in Fatal DUI Accident on GA-151
Ringgold, GA (May 1, 2022) – Around 6 p.m. on Friday, April 29, a passenger was killed in a fatal DUI accident in Ringgold.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on GA-151 around the area of West Nickajack Road. A driver was traveling in the area when they failed to maintain their lane of traffic, traveling off the side of the road. The vehicle struck a mailbox, followed by a wooden fence before coming to a stop.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. The front-seat passenger in the vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The driver of the vehicle is now facing multiple charges for their role in the accident. These include homicide by vehicle, DUI, driving on a revoked license, making false statements, and more.
