Ringgold, GA – Five Injured in Head-on Collision on GA-41 Near Pine Grove Access Rd
Ringgold GA (August 14, 2021) – Around 10:30 p.m. on Friday night, August 13, a serious head-on collision occurred near an intersection in Ringgold.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on GA-41 around the area of Pine Grove Access Road. A Ford Expedition was traveling north when it suddenly crossed over the center lane due to reasons that are not yet known. The Ford then collided with a Hyundai Tucson head-on.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. Five people were injured in the collision, two of which were identified as juveniles. All of the victims were taken to Erlanger with injuries but are expected to recover.
The driver of the Ford, who has not yet been identified, was arrested for the accident. He has since been charged with DUI and driving on a suspended license.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
