Rincon, GA – Update: Man Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on GA-21
Rincon, GA (October 22, 2021) – Around 7 a.m. on Thursday, October 21, a man was killed in a fatal truck accident in Rincon. The victim has since been identified.
According to Effingham County officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-21 and Goshen Road. The driver of a work truck was traveling in the area when his vehicle collided with a log truck for reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the work truck, identified as a 38-year-old man from Springfield, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
A portion of the roadway was blocked for several hours at the intersection as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
