Rincon, GA – One Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on GA-21
Rincon, GA (October 21, 2021) – At 7 a.m. on the morning of Thursday, October 21, a fatal truck accident occurred near an intersection in Rincon.
According to the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened on GA-21 around the area of Goshen Road. The driver of a passenger vehicle was headed southbound when they slammed into the rear of a log truck due to reasons that are not fully known. The vehicles sustained severe damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The driver of the passenger vehicle, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was injured in the accident.
Due to the severity of the collision, the roadway was blocked in all southbound lanes of traffic for several hours. Police quickly worked to clear the accident scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
