Richland, GA – Tractor-Trailer Accident Leads to Injuries on GA-280
Richland, GA (August 11, 2021) – At 3:30 p.m. on the afternoon of Wednesday, August 11, a tractor-trailer accident took place in Richland.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened in the westbound lanes of GA-280. A tractor-trailer was traveling in the area when it pulled out in front of another tractor-trailer. Both tractor-trailers went off the side of the road into the woods, sustaining heavy damages as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Both drivers sustained injuries due to the accident. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their conditions are not yet known.
Only one lane of traffic was open in the area for an extended period of time. This led to delays until the scene was cleared. Police urged those in the area to use caution.
