Resaca, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on I-75
Resaca, GA (May 17, 2021) – Around 3:17 a.m. on May 12, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident on a highway in Resaca.
According to Whitfield County officials, the accident happened on I-75 around the area of mile marker 329. Police initially received a call that a driver struck a female who was walking in the area. The driver, identified as a 43-year-old man, was traveling south when he struck the pedestrian.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian, identified as a 42-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene due to traumatic injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
