Port Wentworth, GA – Injuries Reported in Motorcycle Accident on I-95
Port Wentworth, GA (October 17, 2022) – Around 5:25 p.m. on the evening of Sunday, October 16, injuries stemmed from a motorcycle accident in Port Wentworth.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-95 around the area of mile marker 109. Police confirmed that a motorcyclist was traveling in the area when they suddenly struck the rear of a Toyota Highlander that was traveling in the middle lane of traffic at the time. It is not known what caused them to collide with one another.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. A driver and passenger on the motorcyclist sustained injuries in the accident. The parties were taken to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, though their conditions are not currently known.
The roadway was blocked in all northbound lanes of traffic for an extended period of time. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
