Pooler, GA – Update: Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Pine Barren Rd
Pooler, GA (December 17, 2021) – On Sunday morning, a woman was killed in a fatal pedestrian crash on a roadway in Pooler. She has since been identified by police.
According to Pooler Police, the accident happened on Pine Barren Road around the area of Morgans Corner Road. It was dark and rainy as a 56-year-old local woman was crossing the street to head to work. She was suddenly struck by a vehicle identified as either gold or silver in color. It fled the scene of the accident but sustained front-end damage due to the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The pedestrian was severely injured as a result of the accident. She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to her injuries.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing at this time.
