Polk Co, GA – Deadly Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Hwy 6 at Substation Rd
Polk Co, GA (September 11, 2021) – Early Friday morning, September 10, a hit-and-run accident killed a pedestrian in the Polk County area.
Georgia State Troopers are investigating the hit-and-run crash, which occurred shortly after midnight on Georgia Highway 6 near Substation Road.
A preliminary investigation determined that an unknown vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 6 in the right lane when it hit a pedestrian.
The driver struck the pedestrian with the front of their car and fled the scene shortly thereafter, investigators said.
The Polk County coroner is working with deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office to identify the victim killed, troopers said.
Authorities released no further details. However, their investigation into the circumstances of the wreck continues.
