Peachtree City, GA – Bicycle Accident with Injuries on Peachtree Pkwy
Peachtree City, GA (July 31, 2021) – At 6:30 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, July 31, a bicycle accident with serious injuries occurred in Peachtree City.
According to Peachtree City Police, the accident happened on the Peachtree Parkway in the southbound lanes. An adult bicyclist was traveling south in the area when they were allegedly struck by a passenger vehicle that fled the scene. A witness came across the adult male and called 911.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. The bicyclist was severely injured due to the accident. He was rushed to the hospital with head and facial injuries. His condition is not yet known.
Police have not yet found the driver responsible for the accident but they are still searching. The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
