Payne, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Fire at Rose Ave & Green St
Payne, GA (May 4, 2021) – At 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning, May 4, a man was killed in a fatal fire in a home in Payne.
According to the Macon-Bibb Fire Department, the fire took place in a home at the intersection of Rose Avenue and Green Street. Fire crews arrived at the scene to find that the home was fully engulfed in flames. They went inside and found an adult male and pulled him to safety.
Paramedics and numerous other local responders were present at the scene. The 60-year-old male was rushed to a local hospital for smoke inhalation injuries and passed away as a result.
The area was blocked for a period of time following the fire.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
