Palmetto, GA (July 26, 2021) – Around 5:45 p.m. on the evening of Monday, July 26, a car crash with injuries occurred in Palmetto.

According to Coweta County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area o exit 56, Collinsworth Road. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries.

The roadway was blocked in several lanes for an extended period of time as police cleared the scene.

The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues at this time.
