Ochlocknee, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Crash at GA-188 & US-19
Ochlocknee, GA (July 13, 2021) – At 6 p.m. on Saturday evening, July 10, a woman was killed in a fatal crash in Ochlocknee.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-188 and US-19. A female driver was in a Lincoln passenger vehicle when the vehicle collided with an ambulance. The ambulance struck the side of the Lincoln, which led to extensive damages to the involved vehicles.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately called to the scene. A 94-year-old female passenger in the Lincoln was severely injured and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle, as well as three occupants inside the ambulance, were injured in the crash. They were rushed to Archbold Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the intersection for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
