Norcross, GA – Woman Killed in Apartment Fire on Jimmy Carter Blvd
Norcross, GA (May 29, 2021) – At 7 a.m. on Saturday morning, May 29, a woman was killed in an apartment fire in Norcross.
According to Gwinnett County officials, the fire broke out in an apartment on Jimmy Carter Boulevard. When crews arrived at the scene, they found heavy flames coming out of the apartment on both the first and second floors. Two women were inside the apartment when the fire initially broke out but only one was able to escape.
Fire crews rushed inside to find the second woman but they were unsuccessful at saving her. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman has not yet been identified by officials.
The fire was brought under control by 7:40 a.m.
The investigation into the circumstances of the fire continues.
