Norcross, GA – Victims Hurt in Vehicle Wreck, Fire on I-85 at Jimmy Carter Blvd
Norcross, GA (December 31, 2021) – At 11:15 p.m. on the evening of Friday, December 31, an injury accident occurred on a highway in Norcross.
According to officials, the accident happened in the southbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Two vehicles both forcefully collided, causing them to drive off the side of the road onto the shoulder. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result, with one bursting into flames at the scene.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene to help those in need. Several victims sustained injuries as a result of the collision. The injured parties, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
Due to the severity of the accident, a large portion of the roadway was blocked for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
