Valdosta, GA – Passenger Killed in Fatal Rollover Crash on E Gordon St
Valdosta, GA (December 30, 2021) – Around 10:38 p.m. on the night of Monday, December 27, one person was killed in a fatal rollover crash in Valdosta.
According to Valdosta Police, the accident happened on East Gordon Street. An officer noticed a vehicle originally on Myrtle Street traveling along with defective equipment. The officer attempted to pull over the vehicle but the driver, identified as a 27-year-old man, refused to stop. When he was traveling onto East Gordon, he lost control and his vehicle flipped several times until it stopped in front of a yard.
Numerous responders, including paramedics and fire crews, were called to the scene to help those in need. A passenger in the rolled vehicle, identified only as a 37-year-old adult male, was ejected from his vehicle. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 7-year-old was also inside the vehicle and was not injured.
The driver of the vehicle was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude. Additional charges could be expected in the next few weeks.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
