Savannah, GA (June 11, 2021) – On Friday afternoon, June 11, a police chase ended in a car accident on a roadway in Savannah.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the incident took place when a Dodge Charger was headed in the wrong direction on Henry Street around noon. Police attempted to stop the Charger but the driver fled the scene. They turned onto Pennsylvania Avenue and struck a Ford Escape in the area.

Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were present at the scene. Two people in the Ford Escape were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries but they are expected to be okay.

One person in the Charger was taken into custody.

The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time.
