Norcross, GA – Car Accident on I-85 Near Jimmy Carter Blvd
Norcross, GA (August 15, 2021) – At 1:46 a.m. on the morning of Sunday, August 15, a serious car accident with injuries occurred in Norcross.
According to Gwinnett County officials, the accident happened in the northbound lanes of I-85 around the area of Jimmy Carter Boulevard. Several vehicles were traveling in the area when one or more lost control, causing them to crash into one another. The vehicles involved in the accident were extensively damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those with injuries. One or more victims, who have not yet been identified, were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
The roadway was blocked in several lanes for a period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision remains ongoing.
