Moultrie, GA – Man Killed, Two Hurt in Two-Car Wreck at Hwys 35 & 133
Moultrie, GA (December 24, 2021) – A Tifton man died in a serious auto accident that happened Thursday night, December 23, in Colquitt County, per Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Post 12 in Thomasville.
Around 9:30 p.m., police were requested to respond to a two-vehicle wreck at the intersection of Georgia Highway 35 and Highway 133. Colquitt County deputies were pursuing the driver of a 2011 Kia Optima that was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Highway 35 on Veterans Parkway.
Preliminary reports indicated that the Kia Optima’s driver entered into the intersection at Highway 133, hitting a 2017 Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Kia Optima, a 31-year-old Tifton man, suffered fatal injuries and died Friday morning.
The passenger in the Kia Optima also sustained serious injuries, as did the driver of the Nissan Altima. Both were hospitalized and remain at a local medical center in stable condition.
This crash is still under investigation.
