Decatur, GA – Two Injured in Shooting and Crash at Glenwood Rd & Derrill Dr
Decatur, GA (September 6, 2022) – Two people were injured in a car accident that took place following a shooting in Decatur on Monday afternoon, September 5.
According to DeKalb County Police, the accident happened around 3:23 p.m. at the intersection of Glenwood Road and Derrill Drive. Investigators discovered that two vehicles were traveling in the area and entered the intersection at the same time, which caused them to collide with each other. When police spoke with the drivers, one of them said that he was shot in the area and had a gunshot wound to the leg but the details involving the shooting have not yet been revealed.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. Both of the involved drivers in the accident sustained serious injuries. The parties were taken to local hospitals for treatment, though their current conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked at the intersection for a period of time following the crash. Police worked to clear the scene as quickly as possible.
