Dahlonega, GA – Update: Man Killed in Fatal Crash on S Chestatee St
Dahlonega, GA (August 19, 2021) – On Tuesday evening, August 17, a man was killed in a fatal crash in Dahlonega. The party who lost his life has been identified.
According to Georgia State Patrol officials, the accident happened on South Chestatee Street. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they allegedly collided with one another. It is believed that one of the involved vehicles lost control on the rain-covered roads. The vehicle crossed over the center line, where it struck a second vehicle.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene. Both drivers involved in the crash sustained injuries and were hospitalized. One of the victims had severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The man has since been identified as a 33-year-old from Dahlonega.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the circumstances of the accident continues.
