Moultrie, GA – Woman Killed in Fatal Truck Accident on Sylvester Hwy
Moultrie, GA (December 30, 2021) – Around noon on Thursday, December 30, a woman lost her life in a fatal truck accident on a highway in Moultrie.
The accident, according to Albany Police, happened at 3000 Sylvester Highway. A 72-year-old woman was traveling in her passenger vehicle when she was suddenly struck by a tractor-trailer as she was crossing the highway. Due to the severity of the collision, her vehicle was badly damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
The accident was so severe that paramedics and fire crews were prompted to the scene. The woman in the passenger vehicle was tragically pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries. Nobody else was hurt in the collision.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation continues.
