Monroe, GA – Woman Injured in Pedestrian Crash During Dispute on Sorrells St
Monroe, GA (April 10, 2022) – On Thursday, April 7, a woman was injured in a pedestrian crash that took place on a roadway in Monroe during a dispute.
According to Monroe Police, the accident happened on Sorrells Street. A woman and a man were fighting over a cell phone at the time. The man got into a vehicle and drove off, striking the victim with the vehicle. She was dragged down the street before being thrown off onto the ground.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other local responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The female, who has not yet been identified, was injured in the collision. She was taken to Piedmont Walton by ambulance for treatment of injuries but is supposed to make a full recovery.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time as police worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released. The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues at this time.
