6/3 Cleveland, GA – Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident at GA-75 & Tom Bell Rd

Monroe, GA (April 17, 2021) – Around 2:20 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, April 16, a woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident in Monroe.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on Spring Street. A 23-year-old woman was trying to cross the street in the area of Wayne Street when he was struck by a Hyundai Elantra driven by a 27-year-old woman.

Paramedics and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene to help. The pedestrian woman was transported by ambulance to Piedmont Athens Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured. She remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
