Monroe, GA – Update: Two Injured in Pedestrian Accident on W Spring St
Monroe, GA (April 22, 2021) – On Tuesday night, April 20, two people were injured in a pedestrian accident in Monroe. They have since been identified by police.
According to police, two pedestrians were walking on West Spring Street in front of the local Walmart. They began to cross the street when they were struck by a 2010 Ford Focus driven by a 42-year-old local woman.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. When paramedics arrived, they found the female pedestrian lying in the roadway with severe head trauma. She was taken to the hospital and identified as a 42-year-old woman. The other pedestrian, identified as a 42-year-old man, had less severe injuries. Both are expected to recover
The driver of the Ford remained at the scene to cooperate with the police.
No further details have been released. The investigation remains ongoing at this time.
