Monroe, GA – Two-Vehicle Collision Leads to Injuries on Hwy 81
Monroe, GA (November 10, 2022) – A two-vehicle crash with injuries took place on a highway in Monroe on the evening of Wednesday, November 9.
According to Monroe Police Department officials, the accident happened before 8 p.m. on Highway 81 around the area of Twin Lakes Drive. Police confirmed that two vehicles were traveling in the area when they collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The involved vehicles were extensively damaged as a result of the collision.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were immediately called to the scene to help those in need. One or more parties inside the involved vehicles sustained injuries in the collision. The injured parties were rushed to local hospitals by EMS crews.
The roadway was blocked in the area for approximately 45 minutes. Police urged those in the area to use alternate routes until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released at this time. Police continue their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
