Monroe, GA – Two-Vehicle Accident with Injuries on N Broad St
Monroe, GA (November 8, 2021) – On Monday morning, November 8, a two-vehicle accident with injuries occurred on a roadway in Monroe.
According to Monroe officials, the accident happened on North Broad Street around the area of the Highway 78 bridge. Two vehicles were traveling in the area before 6 a.m. when they suddenly collided with each other due to reasons that are not yet known. The vehicles involved in the accident were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated. The victim was rushed to Piedmont Athens with injuries but they are expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the accident, the roadway was blocked in the area for a period of time. Police reopened all lanes around 7 a.m.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
