Monroe, GA – Two Injured in Pedestrian Accident on W Spring St
Monroe, GA (April 21, 2021) – Around 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday night, April 20, a serious pedestrian accident took place on a roadway in Monroe.
According to the Monroe Police Department, the collision happened on West Spring Street in front of the local Walmart. Two pedestrians were crossing the street in front of the store when they were struck by a 2010 Ford Focus driven by a 42-year-old woman.
When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the female victim lying in the middle of the road and the male victim on the side of the street. The accident was so forceful that the windshield of the vehicle was cracked. The vehicle had to be towed from the scene.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were dispatched to the scene. Both pedestrians were hospitalized with various injuries. The female was hospitalized with head trauma but is still expected to recover.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision continues.
