Monroe, GA – Rollover Accident with Injuries at GA-138 & W Spring St
Monroe, GA (November 24, 2022) – Around 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday night, November 22, a rollover accident at a Monroe intersection led to injuries.
According to Monroe Police, the accident happened at the intersection of GA-138 and West Spring Street. A red sedan was allegedly traveling east in the area and headed through the intersection. At the same time, a white SUV was making a left turn onto Spring Street. The two vehicles collided with each other, causing the SUV to roll onto its roof. Both vehicles were extensively damaged in the accident.
Paramedics, fire crews, and several other responders were called to the scene to help those in need. One person sustained injuries in the accident, though their current condition is not yet known. The injured party was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
Due to the severity of the accident, the intersection was blocked in the area for some time. Police urged those traveling through to avoid the area until the scene was cleared.
No further details have been released, but the investigation into the accident continues.
We offer our warmest sympathies to the injured party with hopes of a full recovery.
Car Accidents in Georgia
Car accidents have quickly become a leading cause of hospitalizations throughout the U.S., and Georgia is no stranger to this reality. Hundreds of thousands of people are injured in Georgia car accidents every single year, in fact. In just 2020 alone, the Georgia Department of Transportation estimated that over 125,000 people were hurt in car accidents throughout Georgia. The truth is most of these accidents can be prevented when drivers are paying close attention to the roads around them and obeying the laws of the road. If you have been hurt in a car accident and wonder what options you have, you should speak with an attorney that you can trust.
Rollover-related accidents are some of the most severe collisions that take place on our roads each year. In just one recent year’s time in the U.S., approximately 2% of car accidents were deemed rollovers. These accidents happen in many areas, but intersections are known for being some of the most common. Serious injuries tend to result from rollover incidents, which include the following:
- Traumatic brain injuries
- Organ damage
- Paralysis
- Spinal cord injuries
- Broken bones
