Monroe, GA – Man Killed in Fatal Head-on Collision on GA-138 Near Bridge
Monroe, GA (May 4, 2021) – On Tuesday morning, May 4, a man was killed in a fatal head-on collision on a roadway in Monroe.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened on GA-138 around the area of the Alcovy River Bridge. Police confirmed that a grey Jeep Cherokee was traveling east on the highway near the bridge when the 57-year-old male driver struck a Ford Mustang head-on.
Paramedics and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene. A 31-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Cherokee was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The driver of the Cherokee is currently facing charges.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
