Monroe, GA – Injuries Reported in Head-on Collision on GA-138
Monroe, GA (December 14, 2021) – On Monday, December 13, a head-on collision occurred on a highway in Monroe.
According to Walton County officials, the accident happened on GA-138 around the area of Rowe Road and Michael Etchison Road. A Toyota Scion was headed east when it suddenly crossed into the other lane of traffic and collided head-on with a Chrysler PT Cruiser. The Scion then crashed into a bridge railing on one side and the PT Cruiser crashed into the other side. Both of the vehicles were badly damaged as a result.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other responders were immediately dispatched to the scene to help those in need. The drivers of both vehicles were taken to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Their identities and conditions are not yet known.
The roadway was blocked in the area of the accident for an extended period of time. Police quickly worked to clear the scene.
No further details have been released but the investigation into the accident continues.
