Monroe, GA – Fatal Accident at Vine St & Pannell Rd Intersection
Monroe, GA (June 30, 2021) – Around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, a fatal accident occurred at an intersection in Monroe.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Vine Street and Pannell Road. Two vehicles were traveling in the area when they entered the intersection at the same time. The vehicles involved in the crash were identified as an Amazon Mercedes Van and a Ford Expedition, which were both extensively damaged due to the crash.
Paramedics, fire crews, and numerous other local responders were dispatched to the scene. One person involved in the crash was pronounced dead at the scene and one or more were hospitalized with critical injuries.
The roadway was blocked in the area for an extended period of time.
No further details have been released but the investigation remains ongoing.
